I will concede that SqEx did a massive disservice to the people who are interested but only have an XB1 by releasing KH3 on it but none of the collections. Yeah, not everyone still has access to a PS2, PSP, GBA, NDS & 3DS, but most of the series was made available on PS3 4 years ago, and the entire series available for PS4 for almost 2 years now. If you're a person that's so driven by marketing, there is no way you weren't aware of SqEx's significant push to make all the previous games as accessible as possible to as many people as possible. That's a fair point, but Square has been marketing KH3 for four years, with a large amount of marketing being done over the last year and a half. Square's marketing was effective & General "hype" around the game This sentiment seems to be an issue pretty unique No one with half a brain would start at book 5 of Harry Potter, or book 12 of Wheel of Time, or watch season 3 of Game of Thrones or season 2 of Breaking Bad and actually expect to understand the story thus far. I staunchly disagree with this sentiment. Stories should be somewhat accessible even if they're part of a continuous series So why would you twiddle your thumbs waiting instead of playing the games before it, if you're intrigued. Same energy.īut KH3's gameplay builds on almost every single game up to this point it includes elements from KH1, KH2, Birth By Sleep, Dream Drop Distance, and A Fragmentary Passage was basically a public demo for KH3. I mean, I didn't give a rat's ass about the story of Dynasty Warriors. Who's Xehanort?" The guys who just go in looking for a fun beat-em-up and don't give a shit are a-ok by my book. To preface, with my retorts below I want to stress that I'm talking about the types of people who will go into KH3 with no prior experience with the series, and then complain that they don't get it and "hurr durr Kingdom Hearts of dumb and confusing.
